This season's swankiest ski chalets

Britain's skiers want a classier hideaway after a hard day on the slopes. Tom Chesshyre picks ten of the swankiest chalets for the coming season

MOOSE ON THE LOOSE
Humber Valley Resort, Newfoundland, Canada
One of the big attractions of Humber Valley, a new development close to the Marble Mountain ski resort, is its moose. Humber Valley is filled with moose and they scuttle about the mountain, often coming close to the ultra-modern chalets, which have fantastic open-plan kitchens, dining areas and living rooms. Rooms are en suite with large beds.


The development has a fun pub called Sully’s, which serves burgers, salads and steaks. It is a 20-minute drive to the ski resort, which is best suited to beginners and intermediates.
